Guild website looking cool

We decided to use a web service to handle the website. It is really a neat looking site with the cool wow theme and all the cool wow components.

The site is www.uaunion.com. If your interested in joining up just contact me on the guild site, or create a toon on our server and whisper me. My main toon’s name is Shylor (who would have guessed).

I have a friend that does some comics and I thought it would be fun to try it out. I just lack the humor and drawing talent… Well this should go well.

Those Dwarven Women

Setting up a WoW guild site

I am working on setting up a World of Warcraft guild website for my guild. Some of the members are now asking to make it a raiding guild after having been a leveling guild for so long. So we are now looking at the option to going half leveling and half raiding.

I will remain the Guild Master and will manage the day to day activities of the guild. I have set Balthemos as the Raid Master to deal with Raid issues and that sort of stuff.

Real-Time Strategy meet R.U.S.E

I just got done playing the open beta testing of R.U.S.E on steam. I have to say this is a very refreshing RTS. If you have not seen or tried out the game you can download it for free on steam, and help to beta test the game and give the developers feedback.

After watching a few videos I was unsure of the game, it looked okay, but kind of weird. I decided that free was a fine price for me and started to download the game. To my surprise the game is insanely fun. The map feels real as units can not see through towns and forest. The game has all the right units of WWII. The game also has a unqiue way of looking at the map. Sometimes you know what is there and sometimes you don’t. The game can change in a heartbeat from who is winning to who is losing.

If you have some free time I suggest you check out this title while it is free.

Bad Company 2 Rank 5

Well, I finally made it to Rank 5 on Bad Company 2 multiplayer. It took me into the wee hours of the night to get it, but I got it.

I am really enjoying the new maps. Just a month ago in beta they only had one map, we played an entire month on one map. It really got old quick.

The funniest thing I would have to say about playing with someone new is the fact they think they have to run around objects in the game. I got the game for a friend last night and he installed it and started playing. We got into one map and he seen a fence and was starting to go around it. I stopped him and told him that everything you could destroy (almost, but mostly…everything). I went up to the fence and slashed it with my knife (metal cutting knifes, but it’s still cool) and it broke down and we ran into a building.

One of the bad things about destroying to much is the fact that sometimes you destroy the cover you need and find yourself  running across wide open area getting hit by snipers.

My only complaint for the game right now (PC version) is that it is to hard to get into games. I mean the system will bug out and you will have to restart the game, or you will not be able to load games, and plainly sometimes the game just crashes. Once your in the game shooting it is a lot of fun tho.

Reviving the Game Design Podcast

Well, after about two year of not doing a game design podcast. I am working with Jake and Mike on recording another show. However we had one started, but we are finding issues with it that we might just scrap it.

Well we will give it a shot in a few days when our times work out better.

More leaked from WoW Patch 3.3.3!

It seems that 3.3.3 has a lot of extras stored in the patch files. A few new sound files have made their way out and into light.

SPOILER

The new sound files show that the gnomes are getting ready for a battle over Gnomeragan, and the trolls over the Echo Islands. This could lead to 2 more cites in WoW:Cat. The goblins and worgens already have a city planned also in the expansion.

My prediction about the sound files is that these were not put in for patch 3.3.3, but are for patch 3.4 as we start to build up to WoW:Cat. This would allow Blizzard to start to release files early so that the bigger patches are not so big. However players like to dig through these files and find every clue Blizzard has to leave.

Portal 2 coming winter 2010!

The GameInformer Magazine Cover

From what I have been reading around the webs it seems that Portal 2 is on it’s way later this year. I was a huge fan of portal, and even completed it the same day. I found myself showing it to others, then later finishing the game all over again. The story is simple yet epic.

Valve has released a new ending to the game that makes you think a bot is pulling you off somewhere. That seems to be a good way to start the next part. I hope to be impressed with the game like I was with the first one. It is not everyday that a big studio goes out on a limb to try something new… like the 500 WWII games we have.

Valve you have my word on it I will be back to try the next installment!

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Missions

Well, the game has only been out for a few days, and I managed to beat all the missions… on easy. I wanted to be able to complete it and enjoy the storyline and not get mad and quit.

Well, I am glad I got to finish the storyline as I found it fun and enjoyable. If you get your hands on the game play the missions. I mean yeah shooting people online is fun and all, but the missions are some of the best I have seen.
